Sponsor a Special Needs Puppy Program
Provides vet care and food for a puppy or puppies that need extra attention. We will give you updates on the puppies' progress and e-mail you pictures. An example of our special needs babies are these two that came to us as tiny 6-wk-old puppies with a severe case of mange - we've provided before and after shots below.

Spay / Neuter Program
Provide funds to pay for spay and neuters program for those that cannot afford to take their animal to the vets. Many puppies that we rescue from high kill shelters have ended up at the shelter because their parents were not taken care of by their owners. When ever possible Animals Deserve Better will take puppies and then pay for the parents to be spayed and neutered to prevent another litter from ending up on death row. We also have a program that educates the public by visiting schools, handing out information, and taking the time to talk to people about the importance of spaying and neutering their animals. We provide age related information at all our lectures.

Service and Therapy Dog Program

Animals Deserve Better is unleashing the possibilities, matching rescued puppies and dogs to assist people who are disabled in leading more independent lives at work, at home and at school.

Our program consists of placing the right canine assistant with the right person and working with them both, right from the beginning. We select puppies or dogs from shelters and they live with us in our homes enabling us to learn about their personalities. We look to see if they have the potential to become an assistance dog.

Some will have what it takes others will be adopted into loving family homes and not progress through the program to become an assistance dog. We then match the disabled child or adult with the puppy or dog that we believe will become their perfect match.

Professional trainers begin with basic obedience, follow up with specialized training for the disability and end up graduating them as a fully trained team.

Animals Deserve Better believes that this journey which both dog and human undertake together forms a strong bond that will last forever. It will be at least 2 years before both dog and handler are fully integrated.

Foster Program
Provides food and vetting to homes that we find suitable to foster animals until they can find their forever homes.

You can send us an email or call us with what you are looking for in your pet, and we will scour shelters & rescues to match you with your forever companion. Just let us know what you are looking for and we will get in touch with you. This referral service is provided at no cost to you, but any and all donations will be greatly appreciated.
